CLEVELAND - A Cleveland designer has a final bow, before life hit show "Project Runway."
Valerie Mayen, 29, spent 10 episodes impressing the judges with his unique pieces. Thursday was his last episode. We take a look at high fashion through the experience of Valerie. Less than an hour before your party of "Project Runway" follow-up, find designer Valerie Mayen creating on the fly. She began to make a coat this morning. "After being on Project Runway, which is something not as difficult as it used to be," said Mayer. The show has taken this talented and ambitious young man an edge in the fashion Replica bag business very competitive and a whole lot more. "It was really great. I'm really going to do a clinic in February with some local women who want to start and manage their own sewing business," said Mayer. In just five years of sewing, Valerie has developed its own label "Yellow Cake". Has made coats, dresses and accessories. Some of his creations are in the backs of celebrities, but their identity is kept secret. "I was working hard and selling online and kind of going at snail's pace. Now there's a lot more movement than I'm doing," Mayen said. Surviving "Project Runway" meant being creative on deadline. There was no contact with the outside world for six weeks of recording. "They wanted us crazy. They wanted to build anxiety. A little stress-inducing. It makes for better drama on television," said Mayer. With friends, fans and colleagues, Valerie says goodbye to reality show in his very busy game clock. While it is Sweet 16 Dresses a new beginning for her in the real world of fashion |
