For years athletes have been graded on their offensive abilities, leaping ability, rebounding, speed, passing and shooting percentage. Up to now, there has not been a grading system for defensive or lateral quickness. We are introducing the "Lateral Lightning" that will grade a person on their ability to play defense. -_This system is designed to have a player in a defensive stance facing the "Lateral Lightning" and responding to the lateral motion that is being generated randomly by computer. An ultrasound system measures his ability to respond. The level of difficulty is variable and the player will be graded by a numerical score for their highest performance level. --Although the Lateral Lightning is primarily designed to defend a dribbler in basketball, most coaches agree that sports such as football, tennis, baseball, soccer or any other sport that requires quick response and foot speed will --benefit. --We have designed this as a trainer for all age levels as well as a testing mechanism to give coaches the ability in recruiting to evaluate defensive talent.
