Greetings,
On Thursday morning, November 26, 2009 volunteers are needed to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to approximately 500 homebound senior (elderly handicapped) citizens in the Sunnyside/South Houston areas. This is about 100 meals short of what was delivered last year. The Anna Dupree Senior Citizens Apartment complex has been eliminated from our list and will be handled by another charitable organization.
This community services volunteer opportunity is available and open to anyone, individuals, families, friends or organizations. However, patience is required due to many of the senior citizens are in their mid to late 90's, and we have one that is 106 years of age. She will be celebrating her 107th birthday on December 3rd.
Please bring two coolers with you to carry the meals for deliveries. One cooler will be used for hot meals and the other for cold food items. The meals will be prepared by the Houston Meal on Wheel program and will be delivered to the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center early Thursday morning. The Sunnyside Multi-Service Center is located at 4601 Wilmington off of Cullen just south of Reed Road .
Please arrive at the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center at 8:00 a.m. with your coolers. Please come even if you don't have a cooler. We will team you up with someone or a group with a cooler. Providing that we get enough volunteers, we should be finished within two to three hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact either Mrs. Sandra Hines at 832-374-5585 or Robert Morgan Jr. 281-728-5395. Looking forward to your support!

What office do you work of of?0 pointsMichele wrote 918 Days Ago (neutral) 0What an awesome ministry. To feed those in need on a day everyone else usually overeats and overindulges in so much gluttony is giving God glory for what He has done for you. If I lived in that area, I wouldn't mind giving a helping hand.0 points
