I'm a new Christian, some say a baby in Christ.  God took over my life in March of this year.  Ever since I have been like, "I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS YEARS AGO!"  I am learning things everyday. I found out that many times I was, and still now at times beat my head against a wall trying to do things "my way" instead of giving them to God.  It's hard to completely rewire your mind to a new way of doing things after doing them a certain way for so long.  I've learned that giving things to my Father is trusting him and the holy spirit to take care of them.  When I try to control things myself, it is the flesh that I am giving in to which is a slap in the face to God.  Telling people what to do and trying to control things doesn't work, even if what you are saying is right!  That is the biggest lesson I've learned thus far.  I was a control freak before Christ.   We sing songs at church that say that God wants us to be broken.  My first few weeks at church I didn't understand why someone who loves me would want me to break! I asked, "what does that mean?" I learned that God wants our flesh to be broken so that the holy spirt can come in and renew us.  That means letting go and letting God.  It's beautiful.
