Covering (Church or not)

Because you may have a daily walk with God and you do praise and worship and read your bible at home on a daily basis, do you feel as though you do not need to go to church? Please respond with your thoughts.

Sometimes I skip church and watch it on tv. I love church and my week doesn't feel right sometimes if I don't attend.

I am of the opinion that as long as you are confident with your relationship with God and are taking the time to read and praise him as he ask us to do, then you do not have to go into a building that is named church. To me church could be in your living room. Reading the word of God and watching Joel Osteen. We can fellowship in other place, we do that everyday at work. But in the end its what works for you as individual. I know that here in Galveston we have themes each day and I have taken that concept home and that is how me and my children have bible study every night.

I agree with Shanika. I have heard people downgrading others because they dont attend church on a regular and I dont agree wtih that. I dont think you have to go to church every Sunday to have a relationship with GOD and to know that heaven will be your eternal home.

I love human contact. As my pastor always reminds us "We are the Light of the World Christian Fellowship and we are all fellows in the same ship." I draw such strength from those who face the same or similar challenges as we, but still decided to trust God.

It's a necessity for me. Having private worship time is great, but there comes a point when you need to be fed. You need the guidance and nourishment that your spiritual leaders, that are ordained and led by God alone, can give. Also, the Lord calls us to stand in agreement with each other when we are believing for His grace or for Him to show up in a mighty way. Fellowship with those that share like beliefs helps to strengthen and encourage us when we are feeling lost and confused.
